親虫の情報	Male and female bought from specialty store in late December, approximately 9 month old pair at the start of the pairing.

産卵セット詳細

Used large plastic case with mat on the bottom (pressed hard) and a block of 'Basic' two-thirds submerged near the top in more loosely pressed mat. Also included smallish 'sanranki'.

工夫した点や気をつけた事

This was my first time to try this and I didn't understand that I needed to take the male stag beetle out of the case. By September he had lost three legs. From time to time I took out parts of the mat and replaced them with new parts.

備考

From the old parts of the mat I extracted grubs and eggs. In most cases the eggs never hatched but I have a fair number of grubs (19) which I am raising now.
